Single atom Fe in favor of carbon disulfide (CS2) adsorption and thus the removal efficiency

چکیده

Carbon disulfide (CS2) is a typical organic sulfur compound emitted from many industrial processes, such as petrochemical, smelting, et al. Chemical adsorption promising method for CS2 removal and Fe based adsorbents usually show excellent performance. Single-atom catalysts (SACs) always perform magical effects in various heterogeneous reactions. In this work, pyrolyzing coordinated polymer (PCP) strategy was adopted to synthesize single-atom catalyst. HAADF-STEM XAFS results that among several support precursor (Zn, Ce, Ag Al), only appears successfully on Al catalyst Fe-C/Al2O3, which also performs the optimal efficiency. The contrast with Fe2O3-C/Al2O3 shows has remarkable advantage agglomeration of iron atoms decreases capacity. DFT calculation finally reveal strong interaction between atom C (in CS2) induces increment capacity Fe-C/Al2O3.

Carbon atom adsorption on and diffusion into Fe(110) and Fe(100) from first principles

We employ spin-polarized periodic density functional theory (DFT) to examine carbon atom adsorption on, absorption in, and diffusion into Fe(110) and Fe(100). We find that carbon atoms bind strongly with Fe surfaces and prefer high coordination sites. The carbon atom is predicted to adsorb on the long-bridge site on Fe(110) and the fourfold hollow site on Fe(100). Due to the very short distance...

Comparison of Efficiency of Nano-magnetic Iron, Single-walled Carbon Nanotubes and Hybrid Nano-reactor in Removal of Xylene from Aqueous Solutions and Adsorption Isotherms

Background & objectives: Xylene, which can pollute the water sources, is widely used as a solvent in insecticide manufacture, dye and leather and other industries. Adsorption is one of the most common processes used to treat the contaminated aqueous solutions by xylene. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the xylene removal efficiency and adsorption isotherms of magnetic nanoparticl...

Evaluation of adsorption efficiency of activated carbon/chitosan composite for removal of Cr (VI) and Cd (II) from single and bi-solute dilute solution

The aim of this study was to evaluate the adsorption capacity of the novel coated activated carbon by chitosan for removal of Cr (VI) and Cd (II) ions from single and bi-solute dilute aqueous solutions. In addition, the adsorption abilities of activated carbon (AC), chitosan (CH) and chitosan / activated carbon composite (CHAC) have been compared. Adsorption studies were performed in a batch sy...
